 The
padlock is a traditional security device for items and places
that present problems of attachment, or of transport, to other
forms of locks. S. Parker’s quality padlock line covers
the needs of a wide variety of security aims, from light security
on sheds, cabinets—even boxes, and other light duty areas,
to heavier protection supplied by case hardened shackles, heavy
duty laminated cases, and pin tumbler keying.
Some models, aimed at protecting from roll-away theft of bicycles,
motorcycles, carriages, and similar easily stolen items, are
attached to, or made a part of cables, to ease locking an item
not only to itself, but to a
close by immovable surface such as
a lamppost.
Different keying and locking systems, from solid brass pin tumblers
to combinations are in stock, and replaceable solid brass pin
tumblers. S. Parker’s “Jaws®” brass padlocks
deter security problems five ways: the case hardened shackle
not only resists cutting because of hardness, but spins to prevent
a blade getting a grip; the shackle set in the lock body so
that there’s no room for a bolt cutter to work; the shape
makes a solid whack with a sledge almost impossible; there is
no insertion point for a pry bar; finally, the 5 pin tumbler
resists picking, and the key is retained when unlocked.
S. Parker’s strong Power Block U Bar padlock is for difficult
locking situations, on motorcycles, mopeds, motor scooters,
baby carriages and similar non-traditional needs. The round,
solid brass keyway is pick resistant, and the shackle is vinyl
covered case hardened steel.
